About Us

The Southern Ohio Pregnancy Center was founded in 1991 to provide a place where women of all ages could seek loving and caring help while facing an unexpected pregnancy.

Since then, over 4,100 families have visited the Center. These families were provided with various items such as free pregnancy tests, parenting classes, diapers, formula, infant clothing, maternity clothing, car seats, strollers, etc.

We also offer services and programs for fathers and extended family caregivers. The parenting classes we provide are not only utilized by our clients, but we now receive referrals from Highland County Children’s Services and the Highland County Court System.

The Center provides Abstinence Education in the five Highland County School Systems and the Highland County Christian School. One Abstinence Educator has now expanded to multiple educators.

In 2007 when the program began in the schools, Highland County ranked 4th in the State of Ohio for teen pregnancy. The county now ranks 29th.

All of the services provided by the SOPC are free of charge.

What Is Our Goal?

Our goal is to encourage women to examine all their options so they can make an informed decision that would be best for themselves, their families, and their babies. At the Center, we listen and understand. We care for the baby, the mother, and the family.

We will continue with the following:

  • Defend the message of life.
  • Educate and change generational life patterns through the presentation of factual information to promote strong and healthy families.

Statement of Principle

The SOPC is committed to the following:

  • Providing clients with accurate and complete information about both prenatal development and abortion.
  • Confidentiality and integrity in dealing with clients, earning their trust and providing promised information and services. The SOPC denounces any form of deception in its corporate advertising or individual conversations with its clients.
  • To assist women as they make life-affirming decisions and provide emotional support and practical assistance, through the provision of God’s people and the community at large.
  • No discrimination because of race, color, creed, national origin, marital status or age.
  • Not to recommend a provider or refer for abortions or abortifacients.
  • To offer assistance in all areas with no monetary gain.
  • Promote abstinence until marriage. The SOPC does not recommend, provide or refer single women for contraceptives. (Married women seeking contraceptive information are urged to seek counsel, along with their husbands, from their minister and physician.)
  • The SOPC recognizes the validity of adoption as one alternative to abortion, but is not biased toward adoption when compared to the other life-saving alternatives. The SOPC is independent of adoption agencies, relating to them in the same manner as to other helpful referral sources. The SOPC does not receive payment of any kind from these agencies, does not enter into contractual relationships with them. The SOPC does not initiate nor facilitate independent adoption, though it may refer for independent adoptions.
  • Creating awareness in the community regarding the affects of abortion on all family members.

Statement of Faith

The SOPC believes:

  • The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God.
  • There is one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory.
  • The Holy Spirit transforms the lives of those who are lost in sin and that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
  • The Holy Spirit dwells in the Christian and enables him/her to live a godly life and to perform good works.
  • In the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

A woman has a right to abort her fetus.” “A mom has the right to kill her baby.” Hmmm, same meaning, different wording. The first statement takes away the humanity of the baby. The second gives the baby and mom humanity.

I’m in a Bible study with friends on Monday evenings. For the past year and a half we’ve been reading through the Bible together. Sadly, what we have seen over and over is that we are just as guilty as the Israelites of old who continually disobeyed God, were punished, called out to God to save them, then promptly disobeyed Him again. The pattern was repeated time and again. Also repeated in the Old Testament was the pagan ritual of child sacrifice. In the Old Testament, the pagan god Molech demanded child sacrifice from the Canaanites.

As far as I’m concerned, that is exactly what Issue 1 is all about . . . abortion is child sacrifice. Don’t believe me? Have you ever watched an abortion? If you haven’t, I challenge you to do so. Go to YouTube and watch what happens to a baby during an abortion.

Did you know that after each abortion, the abortionist must gather all the parts of the baby that he has pulled for the mother’s womb? The abortionist gathers those parts to make sure that he/she didn’t leave a part inside the mother.

Abortion is child sacrifice. It is not health care. Health care is about saving lives. Abortion destroys lives . . . over 60 million in this county alone since 1973. God have mercy on this country.

I know what is being said:
* Abortion needs to be legal to save the life of the mother.
* Abortion needs to be legal in cases of rape and incest.

I totally understand those arguments. Both are protected. Don’t buy the lie that says they are not.

We who are prolife have been called liars when we mention the fact that under Issue 1 parents will lose their rights of consent if their daughters want abortions or their children want to change genders. Take a look at the state above us. In 2022 Michigan had an issue similar to Issue 1 in Ohio. The issue passed in Michigan. All you have to do is read what is happening there now to see who was lying.

We who are prolife are being accused of taking away the care a mother would receive if she has a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy. No hospital or doctor would refuse care for either. If they did, they should be put out of business. Who is lying about miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies?
Abortion is big business. Gender transition is big business. The evil of abortion against unborn children and the evil of gender transition against born children both have defiled God’s creation. We must not allow what is essentially child sacrifice to become constitutionally protected in Ohio. This is beyond bad policy. This is pure evil.
